Description
When installing Tableau Desktop or Tableau Reader, the following error might occur: 

One of more issues caused the setup to fail. Please fix and then retry set up. For more information, see the log file.
Setup failed
0x8007051b - This security ID may not be assigned as the owner of this object.

 

Cause

This error is generated by the Windows operating system and it is not specific to Tableau. 
Resolution

Option 1: Run the installation file as an administrator

Right-click the installation file and select Run as administrator. 

Option 2: Contact your IT team

Work with your IT team to complete the installation of Tableau Desktop or Tableau Reader, using an account with full administrative privileges.
