Error "Tableau Data Engine Error: 40460: SimpleDatabase::SelectMetadataName: expected found=1" Appending Data to Extract

Beskrivelse
When you try to append data to an extract that is published as part of a workbook, the following error occurs: 
Tableau Data Engine Error: 40460: SimpleDatabase::SelectMetadataName: expected found=1 

Cause

Either antivirus was interfering with extract creation, or calculations from the workbook caused a mismatch of columns and prevented data from being appended. 
 
Løsning

Option 1:

Work with your IT team to disable antivirus software or to exclude Tableau Desktop from the scan.

Option 2:

Step 1: Publishing

  1. Publish the extract to Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud. 
  2. Ensure that Update workbook to use the published data source is selected.
  3. Publish the workbook to Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud. 

Step 2: Appending

  1. In Tableau Desktop, select File > New to create a new workbook. 
  2. Connect to the data source you published in Step 1. 
  3. Connect to the file you want to append data from. 
  4. You can now append data to your published extract: 
    Right-click the published data source > Tableau Data Server > Append from data source.
