Tableau Bridge Errors "Internal Server Error" Or "ConcurrentUpdateDuringRefreshException" When Refreshing Extracts

When refreshing an extract using Tableau Bridge (formerly the Online Sync Client) hosted on Tableau Cloud, the following errors might occur: 
 

Failed to refresh data source: [DataSourceName] due to the following error: Internal server error\n
 
The following error may display in the Tableau Bridge logs: 
 
ConcurrentUpdateDuringRefreshException

Cause

The "Failed to refresh data source" can occur when the same Tableau Cloud account is used to sign into multiple instances of Tableau Bridge that refresh the same data source.

Løsning

To resolve the "Failed to refresh data source" using Tableau Bridge, verify or perform the following:

 

  • That there is only one Windows service account running the Tableau Bridge application on a single machine. 
  • That multiple Tableau Bridge applications are not using the same Tableau Cloud account. 
  • Check "maxRemoteJobConcurrency" in the Bridge configuration file at "C:\Users\<User Name"\Documents\My Tableau Bridge Repository\Configuration\TabBridgeClientConfiguration.txt" (Default Location)
