Tableau Server Search Does Not Return Results for Partial Words or Words Not Separated by Spaces

When entering a partial word in Tableau Server search, or a full word which is not separated by spaces from other words, search may not return the expected results.

For example, if searching "pen," then "playpen" would not appear in search results. If searching "属性", then "テスト属性" would not appear in search results. 

Cause

Tableau Server's search does not return results for partial words or words not separated by spaces unless they are at the beginning of a string, or appended by an asterisk (*).
Ratkaisu

For single word searches, use the asterisk (*) in front of the keyword or partial word to perform a wildcard search.  For example, *pen or *属性.
