Error:"OCI.dll not found" When Connecting to an Oracle Data Source

When attempting to connect to an Oracle data source, the following error might occur:

"OCI.dll not found"

Cause

You do not have the correct OCI Oracle driver for the data connection and version of the product.  This error is not a JDBC driver error.
Løsning
Since Tableau 2020.2, the JDBC driver is the preferred driver for connecting to Oracle although our Drivers Download website does list the OCI driver for convenience.

To resolve this issue, visit our Drivers download page and download the correct JDBC or OCI driver for the version of Tableau Desktop, Tableau Bridge, or Tableau Server you are using.  

If both OCI and JDBC drivers are installed on the same machine, Tableau will prioritize using the JDBC driver.
