Unable to Use Many URL Parameters in a URL Action

Description

You are unable to pass parameters in the URL if the URL contains too many characters.

Additionally, the URL is read as a truncated string and the following error might be displayed:  

"404 not found"
 

Cause

The URL exceeds the character length (2083) supported by Tableau Server (regardless of the browser used).

Resolution
Try one of the following options:
  1. Reduce the URL length in the URL filter so that it contains less than 2083 characters.
  2. If applicable, remove the spaces values contained in the published view (as they need to be encoded, the URL will be longer).
