Error "You do not have permission..." Connecting to Google Analytics

When you try to connect to Google Analytics from Tableau Desktop or refresh an existing connection, the following error might occur intermittently:

Cause

The error does not originate in Tableau: this is a generic error that is returned by the Google Analytics API. 

It could occur in the following circumstances:

1. You do not have administrative access to the Google Analytics account/property/view
2. You are attempting to connect to a Google Analytics segment that no longer exists in the account
3. The API requests have exceeded the limit allowed by Google Analytics
