Custom Shapes Do Not Appear in Published Workbook

Description
Custom shapes appear correctly in Tableau Desktop but are missing when the workbook is viewed in Tableau Server.

Cause

Custom shapes must be placed in their own folder in order to be uploaded along with the published workbook.
Résolution
  1. Navigate to the Shapes folder. By default, this folder is located in the My Tableau Repository: My Documents\My Tableau Repository\Shapes\
    e.g. on Windows, the detaulf path is: C:\Users\Your_username\Documents\My Tableau Repository\Shapes
  2. Create a new sub-folder under the Shapes folder. For example, My Documents\My Tableau Repository\Shapes\Cars
  3. Move the custom shape(s) into the new sub-folder.
  4. Republish the workbook.
