Alert "<Data source> is out of date" and "Unknown failure" Refreshing Extract

Описание

When Tableau Server tries to refresh extracts, the extract refresh might fail, and the following alert might appear on Tableau Server:

<Data source> is out of date.

Refresh failed: <date>
Last refreshed: None
Error: Unknown failure
 

Cause

Tableau Server cannot access the source file to refresh the data.
Решение
One of the following steps might resolve the issue:
  • Use the UNC path to connect to the source file from which the extract is created.
  • Verify that the Tableau Server Run As User can access the source file from the computer running Tableau Server. For more information, see Run As Account Settings to Confirm in Tableau Help.
  • Republish the data source and workbook to Tableau Server.
    Note: It's best practice to back up the data source and workbooks before making any changes to them.
  • Check disk space on the drive where the extracts are stored to ensure there is enough space.

Note: A UNC path is the full path of a resource or file that is stored on the computer, which includes the full computer name, drive, path to the file, and file name. For example, a text file with a mapped path to D:\datasource.txt has a UNC path that looks like the following: \\workstation1\d$\datasource.txt, where “workstation1” is the full computer name.
