When you publish a workbook connected to Amazon Redshift to Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud, temporary tables with a _tableau prefix in the name might be created in the Amazon Redshift database.
The Amazon Redshift data source allows Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud to create temporary tables in the Redshift database. Tableau checks to see if TEMPORARY privileges are granted, and if they are, Tableau will create temporary tables as needed.
