Geographic Roles Unavailable for Some Fields

Дата публикации: Apr 13, 2024
Описание
When assigning geographic roles, the option is unavailable for some fields.

Cause

Custom geocoding will sometimes override the default geocoding built into Tableau Desktop. When this happens, fields that should display geographic roles will be missing the option. Removing the custom geocoding will allow Tableau Desktop to resume using its default geocoding, thereby allowing the fields to display geographic roles properly.
Решение
  1. Remove custom geocoding stored in your Tableau Repository.
  2. From the Tableau Desktop toolbar, select Map > Geocoding > Remove Custom Geocoding.

Note: This operation will not remove the geocoding from a packaged workbook, but will remove custom geocoding from the local data folder in your Tableau Repository.

Дополнительные ресурсы
By default, Tableau Desktop stores Geocoding files in the following location:
“C:\Program Files\Tableau\Tableau <version>\Local\data”

After importing Custom Geocoding in Tableau Desktop (Map > Geocoding > Custom Geocoding), Tableau Desktop uses geocoding files in the location:
"C:\Users\<user>\Documents\My Tableau Repository\Local Data Import” where Local Data Import is the new folder automatically created.

Review the above locations to see if the folder/files were deleted when the option "remove custom geocoding" was selected.
