Error "Connection Refused" When Logging In with Tabcmd

When using tabcmd to log in to Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud site from the computer running Tableau Server, the following error might occur:

Connection Refused

Cause

  1. The public address cannot be used to log in with tabcmd from the local computer hosting Tableau Server, because a computer cannot establish a connection to itself using a public URL.
  2. Tableau Cloud site has been migrated to Hyperforce
Ratkaisu

Option 1

Log in using http://localhost as the site address. Note: This option will not work if SSL is enabled.

Option 2

Install tabcmd on a different computer and log in from there. 

Option 3 (Tableau Cloud only)

Add Hyperforce IP addresses to the firewall allowlist.
