Data Source Modified Date Different Than Workbook Modified Date on Tableau Server

When viewing modified dates on Tableau Server, a published data source might have a last modified date that is different from the modified date of a workbook that uses that data source.

Cause

• When a workbook has only a Tableau Server data source connection, the workbook modified date is the last time the workbook was published. The data source modified date is the last time the data source was refreshed or published. 
• When a workbook has both a Tableau Server data source connection and an extract connection, the workbook modified date is either the last time the workbook was published or the last refresh of the extract on Tableau Server. The data source modified date is the last time the data source was refreshed or published.
