Unable to open Tableau Prep Builder with the following error:
"Tableau Prep Builder stopped running because an underlying process stopped unexpectedly.
If this problem continues, try reinstalling the product."
The Tableau Prep logs show the below error when there is an issue with the Java environment variable:

Tableau Prep Logs are located in My Tableau Repository, as noted in this article on Sending Tableau Prep Log Files.
1: Work with your IT Admin to edit the Environment Variables on your computer. See information on Editing Environment Variables on Windows 10 or Windows 11.
2: Remove " _JAVA_OPTIONS" entry and restart Tableau Prep Builder.
Re-install Tableau Prep Builder on the simple install path without any Japanese characters.
A missing .dll from Visual C++ Redistributable than can also block Tableau Prep from opening.
