Error "Cannot connect to the Mapbox server" in Tableau Desktop

Description
When adding geographic fields in Tableau Desktop, users receive this error message:

"Cannot connect to the Mapbox server. Please check your internet connection and try again."

 

Cause

The domains used for api.mapbox.com and mapsconfig.tableau.com's certificate validation are blocked.
Résolution
Work with your IT group to add the following domains to the "safe-list" which may be blocked by anti-virus software or firewalls:
