Description

When connecting Cloudera Hadoop Hive from Tableau Server, user gets this error:
 

Error "Unable-to-connect-to-the-datasource-via-ODBC-Cloudera-ThriftExtension-9-Error-occurred-while-authenticating-via-SASL-Error-details-SASL-1-generic-failure-GSSAPI-Error-Unspecified-GSS-failure-Minor-code-may-provide-more-information"



Cause

The Kerberos Run as User may not be enabled in Tableau Server.
 

Résolution

Please review and follow the instructions in this article to enable the Kerberos Run-As user: Enable Kerberos Service Account Access.
