Presto Tables Cannot be Pulled Into Tableau Desktop

When pulling a Presto table after connecting to PrestoSQL, it fails with the error FAB9A2C5 (Error executing query).

Cause

The incorrect JDBC driver is used for PrestoSQL 343.
Ratkaisu
Using SimbaPresto ODBC instead of JDBC

  1. Remove presto-jdbc-0.262.jar from C:/Program Files/Tableau/Drivers/

  2. Install the SimbaPresto ODBC ( SimbaPresto1.1-64-bit.msi). Contact Tableau Support to get the driver.

  3. Restart Tableau Desktop and make use of ODBC Driver.
