When connected to Cloudera Hadoop Hive and adding a field to a worksheet in a new workbook in Tableau Desktop, the following error may occur:
Error Code: B19090E0
[Cloudera][Hardy] (35) Error from server: error code: '1' error message: 'Error while compiling statement: FAILED: Execution Error, return code 1 from org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.exec.tez.TezTask'.
The Tez execution engine of the Hive database failed to execute the query.
Changing the execution engine to Map Reduce (MR) by using the "SSP_hive.execution.engine=mr" parameter with the odbc-connect-string-extras customization in a TDC file may allow the query to be executed without this error.
For more information about customizing the connection string for native connectors that use an ODBC driver, see Customize the Connection String for a Native Connector.
