Tableau Slack App Doesn't Work With Token Rotation

When Token Rotation is selected per instructions on Integrate Tableau with a Slack workspace, the Slack app will stop working when the token expires after 12 hours and cannot be turned off once it's on.

Cause

When a Slack admin creates or updates a Tableau Server Slack app, per instructions on Integrate Tableau with a Slack workspace they can select "Opt in" to token rotation according to Your App Configuration Tokens. However, token rotation is currently not supported in Tableau's Slack integration. If selected, the app will stop working when the token expires after 12 hours and cannot be turned off once it's on.

Option 1

Keep token rotation off.

Option 2

If an admin turned on token rotation, they need to create a new Slack app. See Slack's documentation: Token Rotation, since token rotation cannot be turned off once it is on.
