The Tableau Server Messaging Service is in an error state even after restarting Tableau Server or restarting the hardware.

Cause

  • Environmental - Software conflicts.
  • Antivirus and endpoint software such as FortiEDR is blocking the JAVA.exe on Tableau server. 
Ratkaisu
Re-configure the anti-virus software to exclude the Tableau Server folders, sub-folders, and the java.exe process used by Tableau Server.
