Tableau Prep Builder Cannot Show A Field By Cusom SQL With Salesforce Connector If All Rows Are NULL

A field is not displayed in Tableau Prep Builder using customer SQL with Salesforce connector is all rows are null.
 

Cause

This is by design. When a custom SQL is used, the column names are derived from the results returned by Salesforce API. If there is no data in the column, no data is returned and the field is not displayed.
 
Ratkaisu
  • Insert some data in the Salesforce column
  • Avoid use of customer SQL and use standard object and select fields only.
