Error "Data source 'data source name' successfully published, but Tableau could not connect to the published data source" Upon Publishing Blended Secondary Data Source

Upon publishing the blended secondary data source that is using a calculated field from the primary data source, the following error occurs:
Data source 'data source name' successfully published, but Tableau could not connect to the published data source.
The workbook will continue to use the local data source. To use the published data source, create a Tableau Server connection and replace the data source.

Cause

The workbook keeps local connections to the secondary data source when the primary data source use the field of the secondary data source and the primary data source is published, which causes the error. The error occurs basically because the primary data source loses access to the secondary data source.
 
Ratkaisu
To work around this error, follow the steps:

1. Before creating any field-level customizations, publish each data source first.
2. Connect to each data source.
3. Create a workbook that contains the field-level customizations that you need.
4. Publish the workbook to Tableau Server.
You can use this workbook as a "template" that can be shared and downloaded by you and others.
