Unable To Sign In To Tableau Server From Tableau Desktop After Setting The Environment Variables For Proxy

Sign in from Tableau Desktop to Tableau Server fails with the error when the proxy server domain is specified in environment variable.
"Cannot connect to Tableau Server. Please check the server name and port and try again".

Cause

NO_PROXY does not accept * as a wildcard attached to a domain suffix.
Løsning
Check the proxy server setting and if * is used as shown below, remove it.

NO_PROXY = *.test.com 
change to:
NO_PROXY = .test.com
