When trying to upload an Excel file, the following error occurs.
"Can't Upload Excel Files. File too large. Maximum size: 1.0GB."
It's limitation for the current release of Tableau Cloud and Tableau Server.
The maximum file size is 1GB uncompressed when uploading the Excel, text-based files from Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server.
The limit applies for all publishing routes: Desktop, tabcmd, REST API, and upload via browser.
As a workaround, connect to the file which is over 1GB from Tableau Desktop, create an extract, then publish it to Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server.
Once the data is published to Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server, it can be used for Web Authoring.
