Description

Tableau Desktop quits unexpectedly upon connecting to Snowflake data source on Mac.

Cause

Tableau Desktop is currently not supported on MacOS Monterey 12.
 
Résolution

Workaround

  • Remove the current snowflake driver "/opt/snowflake/snowflakeodbc/lib/universal/libSnowflake.dylib"
  • Download and install the other driver available on "odbc/mac64/" from snowflake  Help > Download > ODBC Driver page (instead of using the one from "odbc/macaarch64/" )
  • Restart the computer and launch Tableau Desktop again.
