September is displayed as "Sept" (instead of "Sep") in Tableau Desktop 2022.2 or later and Tableau Prep Builder when the workbook locale is set in Australian or British English.
This is due to the design change. Tableau Desktop (and Tableau Prep Builder) uses Unicode CLDR to generate the date format. "Sep" was changed to "Sept" in Australian and British English locale in CLDR.
A potential workaround it to use the calculation "LEFT(string, number)" to convert "Sept" to "Sep".
Change the workbook locale to US English.
