Extract Refresh Via Tableau Bridge Fails With "VConDownstreamExtractsWithWarnings" Message using Extract from Desktop 2023.1

Description

After creating an extract using Tableau Desktop 2023.1 or newer, and using a Tableau Bridge version released prior to 2023.1 to refresh the extract, the refresh fails with the following error:

Unrecognized Format Change

VConDownstreamExtractsWithWarnings

Cause

There is a compatibility issue between Tableau Desktop/Tableau Bridge and the latest Tableau Cloud.

Résolution

Option 1 (Recommended)

Upgrade Tableau Bridge to the latest version. For details, see How to Upgrade Tableau Bridge.

Always upgrade to the latest Bridge client to receive security and feature updates. See the Supported Versions and Tableau Bridge Releases (for installers) page.

Option 2 (Not Recommended)

Use Tableau Desktop 2022.4 or an older version to recreate the extract data source.
