Blank Page Displays Instead of Tableau Server After Configuring Tableau Server for SAML

When you try to navigate to Tableau Server in a web browser, the page is blank and no error message or warning appears.

 

Cause

PKCS#8 formatted keys cannot be used with SAML in Tableau Server. 
This issue can be caused by using a single command to generate both the key and CSR, rather than generating them separately. 
 

 

Ratkaisu
  1. Generate a new key in the PKCS#1 format (RSA Public Key File). 
  2. Once the new key is generated, create a new Certificate Signing Request (CSR) separately. 
  3. Use the new CSR to create a new certificate.

When viewed in a text editor, a PKCS#1 formatted key will begin with 'BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY' and a PKCS#8 formatted key will begin with 'BEGIN PRIVATE KEY'
