Error: "Tableau Data Engine message 49037 'no such table'" When Opening Workbook After Appending the Connected Data Source

Publiseringsdato: Feb 19, 2025
Beskrivelse
When a workbook is opened in Tableau Desktop or an extract refreshed on Tableau Server after adding a column to the data source, the following error occurs:

"An error occurred while communicating with data source'...'/Tableau Data Engine Error: 49037: no such table [Tableau/Temp].[...]/ Unable to create extract"

Cause

The structure of the data source that Tableau Desktop or Tableau Server is using does not match the data source containing the additional column. This error is more likely to occur with a .twbx (packaged workbook).

Løsning

Option 1

Clear the cache.

  • For Tableau Desktop on Windows, delete or move Users\AppData\Local\Tableau\Caching\TemporaryExtracts
  • For Tableau Desktop on Mac, delete or move ~Library/Caches/com.tableau.Caching/TemporaryExtracts
  • For Tableau Server, on the computer running Tableau Server, open a command prompt as an administrator and use the tsm maintenance cleanup command to clear temporary files.

Option 2

  1. Save the data source containing the added column as a new file.
  2. Replace Data Source in Tableau Desktop and select the new file for the new data source.
  3. If needed, republish the workbook to Tableau Server.
Flere ressurser
Data extracts are columnar, so when refreshing an extract, rows may be added, but not entirely new columns.
