Error: "Bad Request" When Logging In With REST API Using A Password tha Contains Ampersand

When using REST API to login in to Tableau Server, the following error might occur if the password contains an ampersand (&): 
Bad Request

Cause

Depending on the program being used to test the REST API, the & symbol can be interpreted as HTML.
 

 

Ratkaisu
Add the following "&" to replace the ampersand in the password. 

For example:
  • Instead of "Pass&word"
  • Use "Pass&word"
