New Tableau Cloud site has MFA enforced by default unexpectedly

Description

When trying to activate Tableau Cloud for the first time, Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is enforced by default.

Cause

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is selected by default for new Tableau Cloud sites starting January 13, 2023. Existing Tableau Cloud sites are also contractually required to set up MFA. Tableau Cloud sites that were given an exemption will be required to set up MFA at the conclusion of their exemption period.

Résolution

Register a verification method for MFA when activating Tableau Cloud site.  For additional assistance on registering a verification method please see the Tableau Cloud Online Help.
