An extract refresh in Tableau Bridge fails with the following error after adding or modifying the columns of a data source:

Unable to refresh data source because of query compilation.

Cause

Whenever the schema of a data source changes, Tableau Bridge cannot adjust to this change.  

 
Ratkaisu
Recreate the connection in Tableau Desktop and republish the data source.
