When refreshing an extract of a text file in Tableau Server, the following error may occur:
com.tableausoftware.nativeapi.exceptions.DataSourceException: The directory is missing or has been moved
Using a live connection, instead of an extract of the text file, and select 'Include External Files' when publishing the data source or the workbook.
If the text file is in a shared network location and the data is updated frequently, and you would like Tableau Server to be able to connect to the file in that location, refer to the following documents for the steps to set this up:
