"SCRAM authentication requires libpq version 10 or above" Error Occurs When Connecting to PostgreSQL from Tableau

Описание

When connecting to a PostgreSQL database (including the Tableau Server Repository) from Tableau Server or Tableau Desktop, the following error appears:
 

SCRAM authentication requires libpq version 10 or above 

 

Cause

Tableau is using an incompatible PostgreSQL driver.

 

Решение

Download the Java 8 JDBC driver from https://jdbc.postgresql.org/download/.

Copy the .jar file to the following folder (you may have to create it manually).

  • Windows: C:\Program Files\Tableau\Drivers
  • Linux: /opt/tableau/tableau_driver/jdbc

Note: A restart may be needed if the error persists after downloading and installing the JDBC driver.
