Julkaisupäivä: Feb 20, 2026
Kuvaus

Data source connections on Tableau Cloud fail with the error:

  • Protocol violates the IP allowlist/blocklist restrictions unable to connect to <database> server "10.x.x.x".

Cause

Tableau Cloud application could not access the database using the supplied database server name.

Ratkaisu

Check that the server is running and that you have access privileges to the requested database.

Option 1

  1. Use an external IP address or database server name instead of an internal IP address.
  2. Add the Tableau Cloud IP addresses for your pod to the data provider's allowlist. For more information, see Authorize Access to Cloud Data Published to Tableau Cloud.

Option 2

  1. Continue to use an internal IP address.
  2. Use Tableau Bridge to connect to the data source. For more information, see Use Tableau Bridge
