Unable To Apply Changes And Restart Tableau Server Successfully When Adding An Additional Node

A timeout occurs after adding an additional node and clicking Apply Changes. As a result, unable to add the additional nodes successfully.
The Run As Service Account is a domain account in Active Directory.

The following errors may show in logs:
 

(Initial node) tabadmincontroller_node1-0.log

INFO  com.tableausoftware.tabadmin.webapp.impl.status.ServiceStatusWatcher - node2 has 1 service that isn't running: tabsvc_0.<build number> (deployment state: INSTALL_FAILED, process status: DOWN)

It's been more than 20 minutes since the last successful state transition. Timing out.

Unable to start service tabsvc_0. If this problem persists, try rebooting the machine.

 

 

Cause

The Run As Service account needs permissions that allow it to registry services and settings.

Løsning

Verify or manually configure the Run As Service account permissions on the additional node computer. For more information see Troubleshoot Run As User.
