Summer '24: Monitor Login History and Freeze Users Profile Permissions FAQ

Data pubblicazione: Mar 13, 2025
Descrizione

Prior to the Summer '24 release, in order to be able to freeze users and view user's login history required the "Manage Users" permission via their profile or permission set. The "Manage Users" Permission also inherently provides access to many other permissions for users.

Now it is possible to assign users access to "Monitor Login History" and "Freeze Users" without having to assign the Manage Users permission.

Show Login History without "Manage Users" Permission

  • How will the permissions be added to existing profiles and permission sets?

      • The permissions will be turned on automatically for existing customer profiles or permission sets that currently have "Manage Users" permission enabled. No direct action is required from customers.

  • Does enabling "Manage Users" also automatically enable "Monitor Login History" and "Freeze Users"?

      • Yes, when Manage Users is enabled for a profile or permission set, the two new permissions will also be enabled. Deselecting "Manage Users" will not automatically revoke these new individual permissions and admins will need to manually deselected them, similar to other permissions inherently enabled with "Manage Users" as outlined in the "Manage Users" Permission article.

  • When will these permissions be available for my org?

      • The new permissions will be automatically available after your organization has received the Summer '24 major release. Use the Salesforce Trust site to determine when you organization is schedule to receive the release.

  • Which Users can I assign these permissions to?

      • You can assign the permissions to users with a full Salesforce license. If a user's license type such as a Platform User, does not support the permission, attempting to assign them will result in the following error:

          • Can't assign permission set <PermissionSetName> to user Platform User. The user license doesn't allow the permission: Monitor Login History and/or Freeze Users
