After Enablement Of Connected Campaigns, Existing Salesforce Campaigns Not Syncing To Account Engagement As A Connected Campaign

Publish Date: Feb 3, 2026
Description

After Connected Campaigns is enabled in Account Engagement, any new campaigns created in Salesforce after the enablement of it, will sync automatically to Account Engagement as a syncing connected campaign. However, existing Salesforce campaigns already created prior to enablement of Connected Campaigns do not automatically sync and will only sync to Account Engagement as a Connected Campaign, if the last modified timestamp is updated on it which then triggers a campaign sync to Account Engagement.

Resolution

Firstly, you would have to ensure Connected Campaigns has been fully enabled in Account Engagement along with ensuring that those existing Salesforce campaigns are eligible to sync as a Connected Campaign by having the relevant record type enabled for connection and it being created within the specified timeframe if you have limited the campaign creation by date. To check these things, it’s as follows on the Connected Campaigns settings page in Account Engagement:

  • In the ‘Campaign record types enabled for connection’ section, ensure the record types for the Salesforce Campaigns you want to sync to Account Engagement are enabled for connection (if you are not using a specific Salesforce Campaign record type, then ensure the ‘Master Record Type’ has the checkbox selected for it to be enabled for connection)
  • Review the ‘Limit Campaign Creation by Date’ connected campaign setting. If it is blank without a date, you do not need to do anything. However, if it has a date set, ensure that the existing campaign created in Salesforce you want to sync as a connected campaign to Account Engagement is created within that timeframe. (Do not set the ‘Limit Campaign Creation by Date’ to a date in the future as this prevents any new campaigns created in Salesforce to sync as a connected campaign. If you do set a value for the field, always set it to a date in the past)
  • Ensure that the connected campaign setting of ‘Use Salesforce to manage all campaigns’ is selected

If all the above three things in relation to having the relevant Connected Campaign settings configured to allow existing Salesforce campaigns to sync as a Connected Campaign have been done, then to trigger a sync of an existing Salesforce campaign to Account Engagement, the last modified timestamp has to be updated on it which can be done as follows:

  • To trigger a sync of an individual campaign in Salesforce, go to the campaign record in Salesforce. Then, select the ‘Edit’ button on it and then select the ‘Save’ button. No field value changes have to be done for during this process but by editing then saving the record, it updates the last modified timestamp on the campaign record which then triggers a sync of it to Account Engagement. (can take up to 30 minutes for the Salesforce campaign to sync with Account Engagement after saving the record)
  • If there are too many existing Salesforce records you have to do the last modified timestamp change for to trigger the sync with Account Engagement, you can do this in bulk with a relevant Salesforce bulk update tool such as Data Loader which you may need the assistance of your Salesforce Admin/Developer to do. For example, using Data Loader, you can do the ‘Update’ operation to update campaign records using just the campaign ID so if you exported just the campaign ID and then did an update in Data Loader using the 'Campaign ID' field, this would update the last modified timestamp of those Salesforce campaign records to trigger a sync with Account Engagement.
