Data 360: BigQuery Data Not Visible in Data Explorer

Julkaisupäivä: Dec 2, 2025
Kuvaus

After creating a Data Stream from Google BigQuery, the data appears to load in the Data Streams, however, when attempting to view this data in Data Explorer, it displays no records.

There are also no error messages displayed in the UI that would indicate a problem.

Ratkaisu

This is typically caused by missing permissions for the user who set up the BigQuery connection.

To fix this:

  1. Check IAM Permissions: Verify that the user who created the connection has the necessary permissions in their Google BigQuery project. Specifically, they need the bigquery.readsessions.create permission or a custom role that includes it.
  2. How to Check Permissions:
    1. Go to the Google Cloud Console.
    2. Select your project from the dropdown menu at the top.
    3. Navigate to IAM & Admin > IAM.
    4. Locate the user and check their assigned roles.
    5. Ensure they have a role that includes bigquery.readsessions.create (or similar permissions).

After updating the permissions, the data should appear in Data Explorer.

Lisäresurssit

This behaviour is related to a generic BigQuery permission-related issue. Refer to Google's documentation for more details. Specifically, look for information about the bigquery.readsessions.create permission.
