When adding or editing a dashboard component in Lightning Experience, the results shown in the preview may not match the results displayed after the dashboard is saved and refreshed.
This occurs because the preview returns only a subset of results from the source report. For example, a component using an "Opportunities" source report may show different values in the preview compared to the final saved state. To view the complete and accurate data, the dashboard must be saved and refreshed.
This is expected behavior. Since the preview is designed to provide a quick visual representation, it only processes a subset of the source report's data. To see the full results after editing or adding a component, you must save the dashboard and click the Refresh button.
