In Salesforce, a discrepancy may appear in the access levels displayed for team members when viewed from two different locations: the 'Team Member Access' action on an Account record and the individual Account Team Member (ATM) record itself. Specifically, the access level for Opportunity and Case access may show as 'Read Only' in the Team Member Access action, even though 'Private' access was explicitly configured when the Account Team Member (ATM) record was created
There is a discrepancy in the access levels displayed for team members when viewed from the "Team Member Access" action and the individual Account Team Member (ATM) record. The access level for opportunity and case access is shown as "Read Only" even though "Private" access has been provided.
This behavior is working as designed. The 'Team Member Access' action displays the consolidated (highest) access level that the user has from all access methods in Salesforce, including Sharing Rules, Role Hierarchy, Profiles, and manual sharing. This consolidated view may show a higher access level than what was set directly on the ATM record. In contrast, opening the individual Account Team Member (ATM) record shows only the access granted at the time the ATM was created. A banner on the ATM record also confirms that the ATM's access may be higher than displayed, based on other access sources
