When implementing custom automation for the ContentDocument object in Salesforce, such as Apex triggers, Apex classes, flows, etc., it’s best practice to exclude ContentDocument records where the FileType equals QUIPDOC, QUIPSHEET, QUIPCHAT, QUIPSLIDES, and QUIPTEMPLATE.
Quip relies on these records (ContentDocument, ContentDocumentLink, and ContentVersion) for native functionality related to engagement metrics, synced sharing, and embedded Salesforce apps. Failing to exclude these records will likely result in unnecessary computations, leading to potential Apex CPU limit exceptions, as well as damaging the Salesforce-to-Quip integration.
