Salesforce Messages Not Displayed When Using "Limit conversation History" in Enhanced Conversation Component

When "Limit conversation History" is enabled on Enhanced Conversation Component, we see the Messages inside Messaging Session are not displayed if the Messaging Session's Origin is Triggered Outbound.

Explanation:

  • In Messaging Sessions, by default, Previous Messaging Sessions conversation messages are visible.
  • We can Use "Limit conversation History" to restrict display to messages belonging solely to the specific Messaging Session Record.
  • When "Limit conversation History" is enabled, we pass the Messaging Session's Start and End Time as Parameters to Fetch the Conversation Messages of that session.
  • However, for Triggered Outbound Messaging Sessions (Messages Sent using Flows/Automation), the Start time and End Time are identical because the Messaging Session ends promptly after the message is sent.
  • Due to identical timestamps for both Start and End times, querying results in null and No Messages are Displayed
Lösning

This behavior is a known limitation when using the 'Limit Conversation History' feature with Triggered Outbound Messaging Sessions. Because the Messaging Session ends immediately after the outbound message is sent, the Start and End Time are identical, resulting in no messages being returned by the query.
