"Error Code: 0505B44A HTTP bad request" when republishing the workbook to a project name containing a slash ("/") on Tableau Cloud 2024.2 or Tableau Server 2023.3.6+

When publishing a workbook to a project name containing a slash ("/") on Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server, the first publish works. However, it may fail the second time, and this error appears after clicking "publish workbook":

"Unable to complete action
An error occurred when publishing the workbook.
Error Code: 0505B44A
HTTP bad request"

솔루션

Versions affected:

Tableau Cloud 2024.2

Tableau Server 2023.3.6 and later

Option 1

Remove the slash ("/") from the project name on Tableau Cloud. Open the affected workbooks on Tableau Desktop to republish.

Option 2

Upload the workbook to Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server directly to avoid this error. For more details, please check Upload Workbooks to a Tableau Site.

Option 3

Upgrade to the fowlloing versions 2023.1.16, 2023.3.9, 2024.2.2.
