In Salesforce, integration users often require access to Field Service objects such as Service Appointment, Service Territory, and Assigned Resource. However, even after assigning the Salesforce API Integration permission set license and a custom permission set with Read access to these objects, the integration user may still be unable to access them. This issue occurs when the required system permissions for Field Service are not enabled on the integration user's permission set.

Root Cause

This issue occurs because the Salesforce API Integration permission set license grants API access but does not automatically include the Field Service Standard system permission. Without the Field Service Standard system permission enabled, the integration user cannot interact with Field Service objects — even if object-level Read access is granted through a custom permission set. The resolution is to create a dedicated permission set that enables the Field Service Standard system permission and assign it to the integration user.

Steps to Resolve

  1. Log in to Salesforce: Access the Salesforce org where the issue is occurring.
  2. Navigate to Permission Sets: In Setup, use the Quick Find search bar and type "Permission Sets."
  3. Create a New Permission Set: Click New. Enter a descriptive label (for example: "SFS Objects"). Click Save.
  4. Enable the Field Service Standard System Permission: Inside the new permission set, go to the System section and click System Permissions. Click Edit. Scroll down and enable Field Service Standard. Click Save.
  5. Assign the Permission Set to the Integration User: In the permission set, click Manage Assignments. Click Add Assignments. Select the Salesforce Integration User from the list. Click Assign.

After completing these steps, the Salesforce Integration user can access the required Field Service objects, enabling smooth integration and API functionality.
