If a Data Space is linked to a Marketing Cloud Business Unit, deleting the Data Space directly will result in an error "Could not delete the Data space" . This occurs because the system verifies dependencies on the Business Unit mapping before allowing the deletion of the Data Space.

Lösung

To delete a Data Space that is linked to a Marketing Cloud Business Unit, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Data Streams and click on New. Choose the Marketing Cloud Connected Source.
  2. On the next screen, review the list of Business Units and their associated Data Space mappings. Remove the Data Space you want to delete and assign a new Data Space to the Business Unit. This step is essential because Business Unit to Data Space mappings can only be saved if a mapping is present.
  3. Once the new Data Space is mapped, save the changes. This will update the mappings and allow you to successfully delete the old Data Space.

Assuming that you have removed all other dependencies on the Data Space, by following these steps, you will ensure that the Data Space is properly unlinked and can be deleted without errors.
