Authentication Issues when Updating LinkedIn Account to Sync LinkedIn Lead Forms to Salesforce

To continue syncing leads from LinkedIn on and after December 16, 2024, you must manually disconnect your LinkedIn account, reconfigure the feature by enabling the Use LinkedIn Lead Sync APIs with Lead Forms setting, and then reconnect your account.

When you reconnect your LinkedIn account, there sometimes is a delay while LinkedIn updates account permissions, which can cause the ad account status to show NOT_AUTHORIZED.

NOT_AUTHORIZED as the ad account status displayed in the LinkedIn Accounts settings page in Salesforce, indicating that LinkedIn has not yet granted the connected Salesforce org permission to access that ad account's Lead Gen data.

 

Résolution

The NOT_AUTHORIZED status typically appears because LinkedIn's permission system has a propagation delay after account reconnection. Salesforce receives the authorization update asynchronously from LinkedIn. Clicking Refresh Ad Accounts forces Salesforce to re-query LinkedIn for the current authorization status. If the status persists beyond a few minutes, disconnecting and reconnecting resets the authorization handshake from both sides.
