Salesforce Einstein Activity Capture: Considerations for Activity Metrics Calculation for Events

Veröffentlichungsdatum: Aug 18, 2026
Beschreibung

Einstein Activity Capture (EAC) calculates activity metrics for events in Salesforce, but the criteria used to update the 'Last Event Date' field differ from the criteria used to show an event on a record's Activity Timeline.

Lösung

This article explains how the 'Last Event Date' activity metric is calculated for events, and why an event may not appear on a related record's Activity Timeline even when the metric updates.

Last Event Date Calculation

The 'Last Event Date' activity metric field is calculated based on attendee data and does not require the event to appear on the Activity Timeline. This means that if an event has a Contact or Lead as an attendee, the field is updated even if the event isn't related to any Who Id or What Id record.

Showing Events on the Activity Timeline

For a Salesforce Core event to appear on the Activity Timeline of a related record, it must have either a Who Id (Contact or Lead, shown in the 'Name' field) association or a What Id (shown in the 'Related To' field) association.
