Consideration for calculating The 'Last Event Date' activity metrics.

Activity Metrics Field the 'Last Event Date' is calculated based on attendee data & does not require for an event to appear on activity timeline. That means, if an event has a Contact or Lead as an attendee, then the field is updated even if it's not related to any Who ID or What ID records.

If Salesforce Core events should be shown on the Activity Timeline of related records, they must be associated with Who ('Name' field) association or a What ('Related To' field) association".
