Salesforce Contract Generation Error: Required fields are missing: [Name]

Description

When a user attempts to generate a contract using the Salesforce Contracts application from a quote or order, they may encounter an error stating, "Required fields are missing: [Name]," even if everything is set up correctly.

This issue arises from the mapping defined in the context for Salesforce Contracts, as there is no "Name" field available on the Quote Line or Order Item objects hence it the mapping is done with the description field. 

Résolution

The current workaround is to populate the Description field on the Quote Line or Order Item from which the contract is being generated.
